Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said the trust of Global South nations in BRICS has grown significantly, asserting that the grouping is no longer merely an alliance of countries but an “ecosystem of solutions” focused on addressing shared global challenges.
Speaking at the concluding session of the BRICS Summit on Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability, Modi said the discussions held over the past two days had further strengthened the conviction that BRICS must translate its decisions into concrete outcomes.
He expressed hope that the New Delhi Declaration adopted at the summit would provide clear direction for the grouping’s shared vision and future cooperation. Modi stressed the need to convert all summit outcomes into time-bound actions that deliver tangible benefits and create a meaningful last-mile impact.
“BRICS must move beyond documentation and ensure that its decisions create a tangible impact in real life,” Modi said, underlining the importance of implementation.
As BRICS enters its third decade, the Prime Minister said the world now expects the grouping to deliver concrete results rather than merely put forward ideas and commitments. He expressed confidence that BRICS would meet these expectations through collective efforts by its member countries and partners.
Modi also cautioned against the weaponisation of technology and critical minerals, stressing the importance of cooperation and resilience in areas that are increasingly vital to global economic and strategic security.
The Prime Minister said the participation of BRICS partner countries demonstrated the grouping’s growing relevance, openness and inclusiveness. He thanked all member nations, partner countries and their teams for their active participation and valuable contributions to the New Delhi Summit.
Modi also extended his best wishes to China, which will take over the BRICS chairmanship, and expressed confidence in continued cooperation among the member countries.
