CM Dr. Saha Attends Blood Donation Drive on Unnayan Sangha's Foundation Day

Placing social responsibility and humanity at the centre of its celebrations, Unnayan Sangha marked its 74th foundation day on Sunday with a voluntary blood donation camp at its premises here, attended by Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Saha and Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumder.

The camp was organized on Sunday morning, with club authorities linking the anniversary celebrations to a social service initiative. The programme drew considerable enthusiasm among local residents and club members, several of whom came forward to donate blood voluntarily.

During the event, discussions were held on the importance of blood donation, and an appeal was made for more people to join such humanitarian efforts. It was pointed out that the need for blood can arise at any time, whether due to accidents, surgeries or the treatment of patients suffering from complex illnesses, and that voluntary donation remains one of the most effective ways to save lives.

According to organizers, Chief Minister Manik Saha has on several occasions spoken about the importance of voluntary blood donation, and has repeatedly urged the youth as well as clubs and social organizations to stand by the people and take a more active role in welfare activities.

Meanwhile, those who took part in the drive were seen expressing a strong sense of humanitarian responsibility. Attendees welcomed the club's decision not to confine its foundation day to festivities alone, but to extend it to work directly connected with saving lives.

Unnayan Sangha stated that standing by the people through social work remains one of its central objectives, and that the camp was organized with this very purpose in mind, turning the 74th foundation day into a notable example of social responsibility.
