Thailand Grants Visa-Free Entry to Indian Tourists

Thailand has announced visa-free entry for Indian tourists holding ordinary passports, allowing them to stay in the country for up to 30 days. The visa exemption will come into effect from September 15.

According to the Ministry of Interior of Thailand, Indian travellers will not need to obtain a visa for eligible short visits. However, visitors must meet certain entry requirements and carry the necessary documents when arriving in Thailand.

The Indian Embassy in Thailand said travellers must have a passport valid for at least six months from the date of arrival, along with confirmed return tickets, hotel bookings and a clear travel itinerary.

Travellers are also required to complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) within 72 hours before their arrival through the official immigration website.

The Embassy advised tourists using the visa exemption facility to carry at least 20,000 Thai Baht in cash per passenger and keep all required documents readily available for inspection at immigration counters.

For group travellers, each member must carry the required documents individually. The Embassy also clarified that those travelling to Thailand for purposes not covered by the visa exemption, including employment, should obtain the appropriate visa.
