Tripura Rolls Out Digital Overhaul of Employee HR Services
Sep 08, 2026
The Tripura government has taken a major step toward paperless governance with the launch of four new digital modules under its NextGen Human Resource Management System (HRMS). Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy presided over the state-level rollout, held Tuesday at Pragna Bhavan in Agartala.
The newly introduced modules — e-Service Book, e-Leave, e-Salary and e-Pension — are designed to bring core employee services fully online, covering everything from leave applications and salary processing to General Provident Fund (GPF) management and pension disbursement.
For years, government employees have grappled with a cumbersome approval process, as paperwork moved manually between multiple desks before reaching a decision. This often forced staff to submit requests far ahead of actual need, simply to account for processing delays. The new system replaces much of that manual routing with digital documentation, electronic signatures and built-in verification checks, a shift officials say will cut down turnaround time while minimising clerical errors and preventing duplicate payments.
Among the four, the e-Salary module stands out for its role in automating wage-related transactions and claims, with the built-in calculation system expected to reduce the scope for financial discrepancies.
The rollout forms part of a larger administrative reform agenda in Tripura, aimed at cutting red tape and making routine government services more accessible to employees across the state. According to officials, the HRMS initiative is expected to boost overall administrative efficiency and reinforce the state's broader commitment to transparent, technology-led governance.
Minister Singha Roy, who oversees the Finance, Information Technology, and Planning and Coordination portfolios, has been closely associated with several such digital governance efforts in recent months, positioning HRMS as the latest addition to Tripura's expanding e-governance framework.
