PM-DDKY Progress Reviewed, Focus on Timely Farmer Benefits

Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday reviewed the progress of the Prime Minister Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana (PM-DDKY) at a meeting in New Delhi, stressing the need for timely delivery of benefits to farmers.
The meeting focused on accelerating the implementation of the scheme across 100 identified districts, strengthening convergence among various government schemes and improving district-level performance.
PM-DDKY aims to increase agricultural productivity, promote crop diversification and sustainable farming practices, enhance post-harvest storage capacity, improve irrigation infrastructure, expand access to short- and long-term agricultural credit, and strengthen governance and service delivery.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, the average score of the 100 districts across the six objectives rose from 22.54 in April 2026 to 38.85 in July 2026, marking an improvement of 16.31 points.
The scheme is being implemented through the convergence of 36 Central schemes across 11 Ministries and Departments, along with State government schemes and private-sector participation.
For monitoring progress, 121 indicators have been identified across the 36 schemes, including 74 output indicators and 47 outcome indicators. The review emphasized strengthening the monitoring framework to move beyond tracking activities and expenditure and focus instead on measurable outcomes and the actual benefits reaching farmers.
PM-DDKY was approved by the Union Cabinet in 2025 and launched on October 11, 2025.
