AMC Holds Key Meeting to Ensure Smooth Civic Services During Durga Puja

The Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) has held a key meeting to ensure that civic services in the city remain normal during the upcoming Durga Puja.
The meeting, chaired by Mayor Dipak Majumder, was held at the AMC conference room and was attended by officials from various departments of the corporation, along with municipal representatives and councillors.
According to the corporation, crowds and vehicular pressure rise sharply in Agartala during Durga Puja, straining civic services such as cleanliness, drinking water supply, drainage, street lighting, roads and traffic management, a concern discussed in detail at the meeting.
Mayor Dipak Majumder reviewed the situation across the city, with focus on areas around puja mandaps and other crowded locations, and directed officials to ensure cleanliness, adequate drinking water, functional drainage, timely repair of roads and streetlights, and proper traffic management through the festive days.
Officials and councillors have been asked to regularly monitor civic services in their respective areas and act swiftly on any problem.
Mayor Dipak Majumder said Durga Puja belongs to everyone and that the corporation would give the highest priority to ensuring no civic problem hampers festive celebrations.
"People's convenience and safety are our priority. Civic services during the days of the Durga Puja festival will be managed accordingly," he said.
The meeting reviewed several aspects of puja preparation, with emphasis on coordination among officials, staff and elected representatives to keep Agartala clean and citizen-friendly during the festival.
