Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman was expelled from the Assembly for the day on Monday following a heated exchange with Speaker Ram Pada Jamatia during the ongoing session.
The incident occurred during Zero Hour when Roy Barman sought to raise the issue of an alleged suicide note reportedly linked to the death of former Tripura DGP Anurag Dhankar. The Speaker did not permit the matter to be raised, triggering a verbal exchange between the two.
The Speaker subsequently ordered Roy Barman’s removal from the House for allegedly using unparliamentary language and disrupting the proceedings.
The action led to further uproar in the Assembly, with Congress and CPI(M) legislators entering the Well of the House in protest. Opposition members continued to press for a discussion on the alleged suicide note and demanded that the matter be taken up in the House.
The confrontation disrupted normal proceedings and created a tense atmosphere in the Assembly as the Opposition persisted with its protest.
