Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured Nepal of all possible humanitarian assistance following the devastating floods and flash floods that have claimed lives in the country.
PM Modi spoke with Nepalese Prime Minister Balendra Shah and conveyed his condolences over the loss of lives. In a social media post, Modi said the people of India stand in solidarity with their “sisters and brothers” in Nepal during the difficult time.
He said India is ready to extend all possible humanitarian assistance and added that Indian teams are coordinating closely with Nepalese authorities on rescue and relief operations.
Meanwhile, the Embassy of India in Kathmandu has issued emergency helpline numbers for Indian nationals affected by the flash floods. The embassy said it is in close contact with the relevant authorities of the Government of Nepal to facilitate the early rescue and relief of affected Indians.
The embassy said rescue and relief efforts are being strengthened in coordination with the Nepalese government.
