Tripura Bags Three National Honours Under PMFME Scheme

Tripura has won three national recognitions under the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme at the PMFME Conclave 2026, held on 24 and 25 August at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi, where the state's performance in urban livelihood promotion and credit facilitation was singled out for praise.
The PMFME Scheme is a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), Government of India. In Tripura, the Directorate of Industries and Commerce functions as the Nodal Department responsible for implementing the scheme across the state.
The conclave was inaugurated on 24 August by Chirag Paswan, Hon'ble Minister of Food Processing Industries. A team from Tripura, led by Moulik Majumder, Joint Director of Industries and Commerce, Government of Tripura, participated in the two-day event.
Among the three recognitions, the Tripura Urban Livelihood Mission was named the Top Urban Livelihood Mission in the country among small states.
Mrinmoy Bhowmik was recognised as the Top DRP from Tripura for facilitating the maximum number of loan applications and bank sanctions under the PMFME Scheme.
Tapan Das, General Manager, District Industries Centre, Sepahijala, meanwhile received the Best DNO award for Tripura, having recorded the maximum number of credit-linked loan sanctions and subsidy cases, along with the highest number of cases sponsored to banks.
The three awards mark a significant recognition for the state's implementation of the PMFME Scheme, which aims to support micro food processing enterprises across the country. The recognitions were described as a proud achievement for Tripura and for Team PMFME.
