Play was halted due to a wet outfield on Day 3 of the second Test between India and Sri Lanka in Colombo, with Sri Lanka trailing India by 373 runs.
India had earlier declared their first innings at 503 for nine, powered by Dhruv Jurel’s second Test century. Jurel’s hundred helped India build a commanding total after a strong batting performance.
India’s bowlers Prasidh Krishna and Manav Suthar then struck for the visitors, putting Sri Lanka under pressure. Poor light also disrupted proceedings towards the end of the day.
India lead the two-match series 1-0 after winning the first Test by 165 runs. The visitors are now aiming for a series whitewash, while Sri Lanka will look to fight back and level the series.
The second Test is also important for India’s World Test Championship campaign, with a victory strengthening their position in the race for a place in the 2025-27 WTC final.
