Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Social Welfare and Social Education, and Labour, Tinku Roy, on Tuesday reviewed the progress of various development initiatives and public welfare schemes being implemented by the Social Welfare and Social Education Department.
Roy chaired an important review meeting at the Secretariat, where officials held detailed discussions on the status and implementation of various programmes undertaken by the department.
During the meeting, the Minister took stock of the progress of ongoing developmental initiatives and welfare schemes and stressed the need for their effective and timely implementation. He emphasised that government welfare programmes should reach all sections of society and that beneficiaries should receive services without unnecessary difficulties.
In a post on his social media handle, Roy said the review focused on strengthening the delivery of welfare services and assessing the progress of programmes being implemented for the benefit of the people.
The Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to making welfare services more effective, accessible and people-oriented. He also stressed the importance of ensuring that government initiatives are implemented in a responsive manner and reach those who need them most.
Roy said the government would continue to take steps to strengthen public welfare mechanisms and improve the accessibility and responsiveness of its services.
