Workshop Focuses on Stronger PRI-CBO Partnership in Tripura

A two-day state-level workshop on strengthening cooperation between Panchayati Raj Institutions and Community-Based Organisations began in Tripura on Monday, marking the formal conclusion of Phase I of the PRI-CBO Convergence Universalization Project and the launch of Phase II across 58 blocks.
The State Level Exit-cum-Strategy Workshop on PRI-CBO Convergence Universalization Project, Phase I and Phase II, is being held to review the progress made during the first phase and discuss the way forward for the expanded initiative.
Phase II will extend the project across all 58 blocks under eight districts of Tripura. The expansion is aimed at deepening collaboration between Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) and Community-Based Organisations (CBOs).
The workshop is providing a platform for stakeholders to reflect on the achievements and outcomes of Phase I. Key learnings and experiences from the first phase are also being discussed as part of the strategy for the next stage.
According to the organisers, strengthening convergence and ensuring the sustainability and institutionalisation of the PRI-CBO partnership are among the key areas of focus during the two-day programme.
The initiative seeks to promote stronger community-led development mechanisms by bringing PRIs and CBOs into closer collaboration. The emphasis is on developing more inclusive and sustainable approaches to rural development.
With Phase I formally concluding, the transition to Phase II is expected to take the partnership to a wider scale across the state. The project will now cover all 58 blocks under the eight districts.
Moreover, the workshop is intended to help translate the experiences and lessons from the first phase into strategies for the expanded programme.
The focus in Phase II will remain on strengthening collaboration between local governance institutions and community-based organisations while building sustainable mechanisms for community-led development in Tripura.
