Bandhan Founder to Lay Foundation for Medical College-Hospital in Dhalai
Aug 22, 2026A new medical college-cum-hospital is set to come up in Ambassa in Tripura’s Dhalai district, with the foundation stone-laying ceremony scheduled for August 24.
The project is being initiated at the initiative of Chandra Shekhar Ghosh, founder of Bandhan Group of Companies. Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha is scheduled to attend the foundation-laying ceremony, which is expected to mark an important step towards strengthening healthcare infrastructure in the district.
The proposed medical college-cum-hospital is expected to improve access to advanced healthcare services for people in Dhalai and neighbouring areas while also creating opportunities for medical education and training.
The announcement was made during a media interaction at Agartala Press Club on Saturday, where details of the upcoming foundation-laying programme were shared. The initiative is being viewed as a significant development for Dhalai, a district where improved access to specialised healthcare remains an important requirement.
With the Chief Minister scheduled to attend the August 24 programme, the event is expected to draw attention to the state government’s efforts to expand healthcare facilities beyond the state capital and strengthen medical infrastructure across Tripura.
