MSDE holds Virtual Conference on NAVYA 2.0 implementation

The Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) today held a Virtual Conference to review the implementation of NAVYA 2.0, a project aimed at enhancing employability and livelihood opportunities for young women across 100 districts in the country.
The conference was chaired by the Joint Secretary, Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), MSDE. The NAVYA 2.0 Project is being implemented by MSDE in collaboration with the Ministry of Women & Child Development (MWCD), with the objective of enhancing employability, entrepreneurship and livelihood opportunities for young women and adolescent girls across 100 identified districts.
According to the details shared, the initiative focuses on providing short-term skill training to young women and adolescent girls aged 16 to 25 years. The training covers both traditional and non-traditional job roles, along with future-oriented and emerging sectors, aligned with industry requirements and employment opportunities.
The Virtual Conference discussed key aspects of the effective implementation, coordination and timely execution of NAVYA 2.0 at the district level. Officials reviewed the progress of the project and deliberated on measures required to ensure its smooth rollout across the identified districts.
The initiative is aimed at strengthening the participation of young women and adolescent girls in the workforce by equipping them with market-relevant skills. It is learned that the project seeks to align training outcomes with employment opportunities in both conventional and emerging sectors, thereby widening the scope of livelihood options available to the target group.
