CM Manik Saha Opens ₹4.99-Crore Shelter for Patient Attendants

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Wednesday inaugurated a Bharat Mata Canteen-cum-Night Shelter House at GBP Hospital, developed at a cost of ₹4.99 crore to provide affordable food and accommodation to attendants of patients.
The new facility will offer meals to patient attendants at just ₹10 and night accommodation at ₹20. The initiative is aimed at easing the difficulties faced by people accompanying patients, particularly those who travel from distant parts of the state.
Inaugurating the facility, Dr. Saha said the government had developed the shelter to ensure greater comfort and safety for patient attendants during their stay at the hospital.
The Chief Minister also urged local representatives and all concerned authorities to ensure proper maintenance and effective management of the facility so that it continues to serve its intended purpose.
The facility is expected to provide significant relief to families and attendants who often face difficulties arranging affordable food and lodging while staying with patients at GBP Hospital.
