Assam Rifles marks Independence Day with flag hoisting, wreath-laying in Agartala

Assam Rifles observed the 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm in Agartala, reaffirming its commitment to the nation and paying tribute to the bravehearts who made the supreme sacrifice for the country.
The celebrations featured a solemn flag-hoisting ceremony followed by a wreath-laying ceremony to honour the courage, sacrifice and dedication of freedom fighters and fallen heroes. The occasion highlighted the enduring values of patriotism, unity and national service.
A march past was also organised at the Assam Rifles Ground in Agartala, where the Assam Rifles contingent put up an impressive performance and secured the second position among the participating police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). The contingent was felicitated by Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, who presented the Runners-Up Trophy in recognition of its discipline and outstanding performance.
As part of the Independence Day celebrations, flag-hoisting ceremonies were also held at Assam Rifles Public School (ARPS), Agartala, and ARPS Udaipur. Students, teachers and members of the Assam Rifles fraternity participated with enthusiasm, adding to the patriotic spirit and inspiring the younger generation to uphold the ideals and values of the nation.
The celebrations reflected the Assam Rifles' continued commitment to promoting patriotism, national unity and a strong sense of responsibility among its personnel, families and the younger generation, while remembering the sacrifices made in the service of the motherland.
