Governor Pays Tribute to Gandhi, Freedom Fighters on Independence Day

Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu on Saturday paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and paid homage to freedom fighters and martyrs on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day.
Governor Nallu first garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Murtiprangan near the Circuit House in Agartala. He later offered floral tributes at Gandhi Bedi at Gandhighat, recalling Gandhi’s contribution to India’s freedom struggle.
The Governor also visited the Martyrs’ Memorial at Albert Ekka Park in Lichubagan, where he paid homage to the freedom fighters and martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice for the country’s independence.
Power, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath was also present during the Governor’s visit to the memorial.
The Governor’s tributes marked the Independence Day observance with a solemn remembrance of the sacrifices made during India’s freedom struggle.
