CM Manik Saha Urges Youth to Honour Tricolour, Remember Partition Pain

Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Friday urged the younger generation, particularly Gen-Z youth and students, to uphold the dignity of the national flag and remember the painful legacy of Partition.
Addressing a programme at Maharaja Bir Bikram College in Agartala, organised as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, Dr Saha called upon the youth to respect the sacrifices associated with the national flag and draw inspiration from the country’s freedom struggle.
The Chief Minister said the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative, launched in 2022 following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call, has grown into a mass movement and generated a strong wave of patriotism across the country.
Highlighting the significance of the Tricolour, Dr Saha recalled the sacrifices made by freedom fighters and stressed that the national flag represents the nation’s unity, pride and hard-won freedom.
He also spoke about the painful memories of Partition, urging the younger generation to remember the suffering and hardships endured by millions during the division of the country. He said remembering the tragic chapter of history was essential to understanding the value of national unity and peace.
Following the programme, Dr Saha flagged off a Har Ghar Tiranga march from the college premises, joined by a large number of students.
The event sought to strengthen patriotic sentiment among young people while reminding them of the sacrifices that shaped the nation and the importance of preserving its unity and dignity.
