Assam to Track Flood Relief Funds Raised by 72 YouTubers

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday said the state government will verify and track funds raised by 72 YouTubers for flood relief, including content creators based in Assam and outside the state.
Sarma said the government would monitor how much money was collected, how the funds were received and how they were utilised for relief efforts in flood-affected areas.
The Chief Minister welcomed the efforts of individuals and content creators who have mobilised resources to support people affected by the floods. However, he stressed the need for proper accounting and transparency in the collection and use of relief funds.
According to Sarma, tracking the funds will also help prevent duplication of relief work and ensure that resources reach those in need effectively.
The move comes amid widespread relief efforts across Assam, where several areas have been affected by flooding.
