12 Trains Hit as NF Railway Revises Schedule, Agartala Services Among Those Affected


As many as 12 trains connecting Assam, Mizoram and Tripura, including the Agartala-Narangi Express and the Charlapalli-Agartala Express, have been cancelled, rescheduled or regulated by the Northeast Frontier Railway due to restoration work near New Harangajao station.

The railway said the disruption follows settlement of railway tracks in the area, necessitating restoration work that has affected several services over August 12 and 13, 2026.

Four trains have been cancelled altogether: the 15615 Guwahati-Silchar Express and 15617 Guwahati-Dullabcherra Express on August 12, and the 15616 Silchar-Guwahati Express and 15618 Dullabcherra-Guwahati Express on August 13.

Among the Tripura bound services, the 15650 Narangi-Agartala Express will now depart from Narangi at 22:30 hrs, while the 15649 Agartala-Narangi Express will depart from Agartala at 23:30 hrs, both on August 12. The 17031 Charlapalli-Agartala Express, originally scheduled for August 10, is set to be regulated enroute suitably.

Other affected trains include the 15609 Guwahati-Sairang Express, rescheduled to depart at 23:30 hrs, and the 15610 Sairang-Guwahati Express, to depart at 21:30 hrs, both on August 12. The 15611 Rangiya-Silchar Express will depart from Rangiya at 23:30 hrs on August 12, while the 15612 Silchar-Rangiya Express will depart from Silchar at 05:00 hrs on August 13. The 15646 Silchar-Charlapalli Express will depart from Silchar at 04:10 hrs on August 13.

The Northeast Frontier Railway has expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to passengers.
