35 Stolen, Lost Mobile Phones Worth 6 Lakh Returned by South Tripura Police

As many as thirty five stolen and lost mobile phones, valued at nearly 6 lakh rupees, were returned to their owners by South Tripura District Police on Wednesday. The recovery was made possible through the CEIR portal, a modern technology based tracking system.
The phones were handed over at a ceremony held at the district police office conference hall around 12:30 pm. South District Superintendent of Police Mourya Krishna Chandrashekhar presided over the event, while Additional Superintendent of Police Suman Majumder and other police officials were also present.
It is learned that the mobile phones had been reported missing or stolen by their owners over a considerable period of time. The owners, upon getting their devices back, expressed satisfaction and thanked the police for their efforts. They pointed out that mobile phones now hold much more than contact details, often carrying sensitive personal and professional information, and that losing them had caused real difficulties in their day to day lives.
During the event, the Superintendent of Police urged members of the public to avoid keeping such incidents hidden. He advised that anyone whose phone is lost or stolen should immediately lodge a complaint at the nearest police station. He added that timely reporting allows the police to act swiftly and cooperate fully in tracing the missing devices.
Officials said the successful use of technology in this case reflects the department's ongoing efforts to assist residents facing such losses. The initiative has offered relief to a number of families across the district.
The police once again advised citizens to stay alert and report incidents of lost or stolen phones without delay.
