Assam Flood Death Toll Rises to 101, Over 1.26 Lakh Affected
Aug 11, 2026
The death toll from the ongoing floods in Assam has risen to 101, while more than 1.26 lakh people remain affected across 10 districts, according to the latest bulletin issued by the Disaster Reporting and Information Management System (DRIMS), Assam.
The official data puts the number of affected people at 1,26,431, with 458 villages reported to be affected by the floods. The situation continues to remain challenging in several parts of the state as swollen rivers and persistent monsoon rainfall disrupt normal life.
The latest figures indicate that while the scale of flooding has reduced from the peak of the current flood wave, several communities are still dealing with waterlogging, damage to homes and infrastructure, and disruption to livelihoods.
Authorities and disaster-response agencies continue to monitor the situation and provide relief and assistance to affected residents. With the monsoon still active, officials remain alert to further rises in water levels and the possibility of fresh flooding in vulnerable areas.
