ABVP Warns Of Bigger Stir Over Neglect at Kailashahar College

Warning of a bigger agitation if the issues are not resolved, ABVP Unakoti district coordinator Ankan Pal said a safe, clean and education-friendly environment must be ensured at Ramakrishna Mahavidyalaya, Kailashahar, where activists staged a protest on Tuesday.
The protest was held over a range of long-pending problems at the college, including an inadequate drinking water supply and the absence of separate common rooms for male and female students. Activists also alleged that College Week has not been held for the past two years and that the college's NSS unit remains shut.
Further grievances raised included uncleanliness on the campus, unrestricted entry of outsiders, a shortage of essential equipment in the science department, the poor condition of the student union room, and the absence of a security guard at the main gate.
The protest was attended by sub-divisional coordinator Sneha Sutradhar, college secretary Akash Debnath, and other students, besides Ankan Pal.
Speaking on the occasion, Pal said, "The problems must be resolved quickly to ensure a safe, clean and education-friendly environment in the college."
He added that if the issues continue to remain unaddressed, activists would be compelled to launch a larger movement in the days ahead.
