Tripura Felicitated For Sustained GeM Adoption at 10th Foundation Day Even

Tripura was felicitated for sustained adoption of the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) at the platform's 10th Foundation Day celebration in New Delhi on Tuesday, officials said.
The felicitation ceremony took place at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, and was attended by Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal, Department of Commerce Secretary Rajesh Agarwal, Ministry of Electronics and Telecommunication Secretary S. Krishnan, and GeM CEO Maher Kumar.
Dr. Akinchan Sarkar, IAS, Additional Secretary, Department of Finance, Government of Tripura, participated in the ceremony and received the felicitation on behalf of the State from Piyush Goyal.
Tripura was recognised under the "GeM Sustained Adoption" award category, in acknowledgement of the State's increasing procurement through the GeM platform and the efforts made by State buyers in leveraging its advantages for government procurement.
The recognition reflects Tripura's continued commitment towards promoting transparent, efficient and technology-enabled public procurement, and the growing adoption of GeM among State departments and buyers.
Tripura govt officials said, "The State of Tripura appreciates this recognition and remains committed to further strengthening the adoption of GeM across government departments, with a focus on efficiency, transparency and better value in public procurement."
Various senior officials and representatives from the Central and State Governments, along with other stakeholders associated with public procurement and the GeM ecosystem, attended the felicitation ceremony.
The Government e-Marketplace is the online platform used by government departments across the country for procurement of goods and services. Its Foundation Day celebration marks a decade of operations, during which several States have been recognised for their adoption of the platform in different categories.
