Pharmacy College at Chandrapur Spread Over 1.18 Lakh Sq Ft, Cost Pegged at Rs 60-70 Crore

Spread across nearly 1,18,900 square feet, a pharmacy college being built at Chandrapur in Matabari constituency is being developed with international standard infrastructure at an estimated cost of Rs 60 to 70 crore.
Matabari MLA Abhishek Debbarma on Monday inspected the construction site of the proposed 'Milestone' college, reviewing the progress of the work with officials of the college authority and discussing various aspects of the project.
Residents of the Matabari area had long demanded a local college so that students would not have to go elsewhere for higher education. The MLA said a private organisation had approached him a few months ago with a proposal to set up such an institution at Chandrapur, after which construction began.
Speaking to reporters following the inspection, Debbarma said 'Milestone' is being developed as a modern pharmacy college, with plans to launch courses including Diploma in Pharmacy and Master of Pharmacy.
According to the information shared, the construction work is progressing with the goal of creating infrastructure of international standard, and the college is likely to be inaugurated by Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha in the coming days.
Debbarma expressed hope that 'Milestone' would go on to become one of the country's top five pharmacy education institutions. He said the college would give students in Matabari and neighbouring areas access to quality higher education near their homes, while also creating employment opportunities for local residents, contributing to the area's overall socio-economic development alongside the spread of education.
