Ratan Lal Nath Pushes Tripura Organic Produce Into Global Market

Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath on Monday highlighted Tripura’s growing potential in the global organic market as he inaugurated an International Organic Buyer-Seller Meet at a Private Hotel in Agartala.
Organised by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, the event features 12 stalls showcasing Tripura’s organic and traditional agricultural products, including Queen Pineapple, ginger, turmeric, jackfruit and honey, before international buyers.
A key highlight of the programme was the flag-off of Tripura’s first-ever export of organic honey to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, which Nath described as a significant milestone for the state’s farmers, producers and entrepreneurs.
Nath said the initiative would help expand international market access for Tripura’s agricultural products while creating new opportunities for farmers to secure better returns from their produce. He stressed the government’s focus on taking high-quality products from Tripura beyond the domestic market and establishing a stronger presence in global markets.
The Minister said the Buyer-Seller Meet was another important step towards connecting Tripura’s farmers and producers with international buyers and opening new avenues for income generation.
Emphasising the central role of farmers in the state’s agricultural economy, Nath said Tripura’s farmers are its strength and expressed hope that their quality produce would emerge as a new identity for the state in the global marketplace.
