Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) have continued their buying spree in Indian equities, investing ₹12,921 crore in the domestic stock market so far in August, according to the latest depository data.
The buying momentum, which picked up pace in July, has carried into the first week of August, supported by resilient domestic fundamentals and strong quarterly earnings reported by Indian companies.
Meanwhile, foreign flows into the debt market have remained mixed. FPIs have invested ₹622 crore in debt securities through the General Limit route so far this month.
However, the Fully Accessible Route and Voluntary Retention Route have witnessed combined outflows of more than ₹350 crore during the period under review.
