Nagaland CM calls for preservation of indigenous knowledge on International Day of World’s Indigenous Peoples

Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Sunday called for concerted efforts to preserve indigenous knowledge, traditions and cultural heritage on the occasion of the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples.
In a social media post, Rio acknowledged the wisdom and traditions preserved by indigenous elders and knowledge keepers. He urged people to strengthen their communities and celebrate the diverse cultures that have shaped the identity of the nation.
Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav also paid tribute to tribal communities for maintaining their close bond with nature and safeguarding their rich culture, traditions and heritage.
The International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples is observed annually to recognise the contributions, rights and cultural heritage of indigenous peoples across the world.
