300 Register for TB Screening at RIPSAT Awareness Programme

As part of a two-day tuberculosis awareness programme at the Regional Institute of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology (RIPSAT), Agartala, a total of 300 students and teachers registered for screening through the TB Mukt Bharat app on July 29 and 30.
The two-day awareness programme was organised by RIPSAT in collaboration with the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Tripura, and the college's National Elimination initiative, aimed at preventing tuberculosis.
According to officials, the programme was attended by Joint Director of Family Welfare and Disease Control Dr. Nupur Debbarma as chief guest, along with OSD of Health Education Dr. Samarpita Dutta, District Tuberculosis Officer Dr. Shrabani Debnath, and the college's in-charge Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Rishiraj Chetri.
Addressing the gathering, the Principal said that awareness messages on tuberculosis need to reach every section of society in order to fight the disease effectively. The awareness programme, held as part of the TB Mukt Bharat campaign, was attended by all students, teachers and other staff members of the college.
It is learned that as part of the effort to make India TB-free, screening was conducted on the day through the TB Mukt Bharat app, in which students and teachers of the college participated. A total of 300 students and teachers registered on the app during the screening.
Meanwhile, as part of the Prime Minister's TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, students and teachers of the college also organised a health camp for local businessmen, motor workers and residents of the GB Bazar area on the same day. The camp offered chest X-rays, haemoglobin tests, and blood sugar and blood pressure measurements. Following the health check-up, necessary medicines were provided to all participants.
