Assam MPs Seek Flood Relief

A delegation of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Members of Parliament from Assam met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at Parliament House on Friday to discuss the flood situation in the state and seek additional support for relief and rehabilitation measures.

The MPs briefed Shah on the extensive damage caused by the floods and the challenges being faced by affected communities across Assam. They also urged the Centre to ensure advance wage payments for flood-affected farmers to provide immediate financial relief and help them recover from the disaster.

The delegation requested enhanced assistance for relief operations, rehabilitation efforts, and measures to restore the livelihoods of those affected by the floods. The meeting focused on the need for timely intervention to address the impact of the annual floods, which have disrupted normal life in several parts of the state.

The MPs expressed hope that the Centre would extend all necessary support to strengthen the ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts in Assam.
