High-level team inspects South District Hospital, announces ICU and CCU services

Health and Family Welfare Department Secretary Kiran Gitte, accompanied by Shantirbazar MLA Pramod Reang and other senior officials, visited South District Hospital on Friday to review healthcare services, during which the launch of ICU and CCU facilities at the hospital was announced.
The visit was aimed at strengthening and making healthcare services in South district more effective and people-oriented. During the inspection, the delegation toured the hospital's laboratory, various diagnostic services, male and female wards, the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and the Cardiac Care Unit (CCU), among other key departments. Officials were briefed in detail on the existing health services, infrastructural development, treatment systems and the overall progress of patient care at the district hospital.
The Health Secretary spoke with patients undergoing treatment in various departments and sought their feedback on the services provided. She also interacted with doctors, nursing officers and other health workers, reviewing different aspects of service delivery at the hospital.
Following the inspection, members of the delegation highly praised the treatment being provided to patients and the overall quality of healthcare services at the hospital. They commended the dedication, sincerity and tireless efforts of the doctors, nursing officers and other health workers in ensuring better, accessible and quality healthcare, and called upon all concerned to continue ensuring health services for the common people with the same commitment in the future.
The Health Secretary also made an important announcement regarding the ICU and CCU services at the district hospital. With the launch of these two state-of-the-art facilities, people of South Tripura district will now be able to access intensive care for critically ill patients and specialised cardiac treatment more quickly within the district itself. This is expected to significantly reduce the need to transfer critically ill patients elsewhere for advanced treatment, making the district's healthcare services more effective, modern and people-oriented.
