Second Batch of Summer Internship Programme Concludes Under West Tripura District Administration


The West Tripura District Administration, in collaboration with DHQ NIC West Tripura, successfully concluded the second batch of its Summer Internship Programme, during which student interns from various technical institutes presented four digital governance projects developed using web technologies, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

According to the District Administration, the programme was organised under the Office of the District Magistrate and Collector, West Tripura, as part of its ongoing efforts to promote innovation, digital governance and youth participation in public service through technology. The internship offered students from various technical institutes hands on experience in developing technology driven solutions for governance related challenges.

During the course of the programme, the interns designed and presented four digital projects aimed at enhancing administrative efficiency and citizen service delivery. These included an online marriage application system, a smart citizen assistance tool, an appointment booking system, and a minutes of meetings management system. The projects were developed using web technologies along with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, reflecting the growing scope of emerging technologies in strengthening transparent and citizen centric governance.

The internship programme was conducted under the guidance of Chirag Lamba, District Informatics Officer, NIC West Tripura, and Swapan Das, District Informatics Associate, NIC West Tripura. Their mentorship enabled the interns to convert their ideas into practical, functional digital solutions over the course of the programme.

The District Administration congratulated all the interns for their dedication, creativity and hard work, and expressed appreciation to the NIC team for its continued support in nurturing young talent and promoting digital innovation in governance. The administration stated that such initiatives reflect its broader goal of building a technologically empowered, transparent and citizen centric system of governance.
