Minister Sudhangshu Das Launches 50 Mobile Veterinary Units

Minister for Scheduled Caste Welfare, Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Sudhangshu Das on Friday launched 50 Mini Mobile Veterinary Units, describing the initiative as a historic step towards strengthening veterinary healthcare and improving the livelihoods of livestock farmers across the state.
The fleet of mobile units was inaugurated at Pragya Bhavan with the objective of delivering advanced veterinary services to the doorsteps of livestock rearers, particularly in remote and hard-to-reach areas where access to animal healthcare remains limited.
Addressing the programme, Das said the launch marks a proud milestone in the history of the Animal Resources Development Department. He noted that the initiative reflects the government's commitment to ensuring timely and accessible veterinary care for farmers across Tripura.
The Minister said the Mini Mobile Veterinary Units will help safeguard animal health in far-flung regions, reduce delays in treatment, and improve the productivity of livestock. He added that better veterinary services would enhance the income of marginal livestock farmers while contributing to the sustainable growth of the state's animal resources sector.
Highlighting the importance of the initiative, Das said the government is focused on modernising veterinary infrastructure and extending quality animal healthcare services to every corner of the state. The mobile units are expected to strengthen veterinary outreach and provide faster medical assistance to animals in rural Tripura, benefiting thousands of livestock-dependent families.
