Centre to preserve Unakoti heritage, develop tourism infrastructure: MP Biplab Kumar Deb

Tripura MP and former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Friday expressed his gratitude to Union Minister for Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat for taking special initiatives to preserve the historic and cultural heritage of Unakoti.
In a post shared on his official social media handle, Deb said that the issue of conserving Unakoti's priceless rock-cut sculptures and improving tourism infrastructure had been raised by him in Parliament.
He thanked the Union Minister for giving due importance to the matter and initiating measures for the conservation of the ancient sculptures and rock carvings, along with the construction of a cafeteria to enhance visitor amenities.
Deb stated that the Centre's initiative would help ensure the proper preservation and maintenance of Unakoti's rich archaeological and cultural heritage while strengthening tourism infrastructure at the site.
Expressing confidence in the project's long-term impact, the Tripura MP said these efforts would play a significant role in establishing Unakoti more prominently on the international tourism map and further promote the state's rich cultural legacy.
