Both Houses of Parliament were adjourned for the day after repeated disruptions by opposition members over the alleged NEET paper leak and student protests.
In the Lok Sabha, Speaker Om Birla attempted to take up the Question Hour but opposition members raised slogans demanding a discussion on the NEET issue. The Speaker said that Question Hour must be conducted according to the rules and noted that the government had already expressed its willingness to discuss the matter. Despite his appeal for cooperation, the protests continued, leading to repeated adjournments. When the House reconvened at 2 PM, Presiding Officer Dilip Saikia again appealed for order, but with the disruption continuing, the Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day and will meet again at 11 AM tomorrow.
The Rajya Sabha also witnessed repeated disruptions over the same issue. When the House reassembled at 3 PM after earlier adjournments, opposition members resumed their protest, prompting Deputy Chairman Harivansh to adjourn the House for the day.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju accused the Congress of protesting over the NEET issue without allowing a discussion to take place. Leader of the House Jagat Prakash Nadda also criticised the opposition, alleging that it was unwilling to let Parliament function despite the government's readiness to discuss all issues, including the NEET paper leak. He further said that the Congress had now added a fresh demand for the resignation of the Education Minister.
