CM Manik Saha Calls Kharchi Puja a Symbol of Tripura's Unity

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Wednesday described Kharchi Puja as a living symbol of Tripura's rich cultural heritage, communal harmony, and the enduring bond between the state's tribal and non-tribal communities.
In a social media post after inaugurating the week-long Kharchi Puja fair and cultural programmes at the Chaturdash Devata Temple in Khayerpur, the Chief Minister said the festival is not merely a religious celebration but reflects Tripura's centuries-old traditions, spiritual values, and inclusive culture.
Dr. Saha noted that Kharchi Puja is one of the state's oldest and most widely celebrated festivals, bringing together people from all walks of life. He said the annual celebration also serves as an important platform for cultural exchange, strengthening social harmony and fostering the spirit of brotherhood across communities.
Expressing his happiness at inaugurating the festivities, the Chief Minister said he hopes the sacred festival will continue to inspire unity and usher in peace, happiness, and prosperity for the people of Tripura.
Kharchi Puja, one of Tripura's most significant traditional festivals, attracts thousands of devotees and visitors every year, highlighting the state's unique cultural identity and shared heritage.
