Special train to run between Agartala and Dharmanagar for Kharchi Mela

The Railways will run a special train between Agartala and Dharmanagar from July 22 to July 28, 2026, on account of the state's traditional Kharchi Utsav, halting at several stations along the route.
According to the schedule, Train No. 05640 will depart from Agartala at 05.10 hours and arrive at Dharmanagar at 08.45 hours daily during the said period. The return service, Train No. 05639, will leave Dharmanagar at 09.30 hours and reach Agartala at 13.20 hours daily over the same days.
The special train will make scheduled halts at Jogendranagar, Jirania, Teliamura, Mungiakami, Ambassa, Jaharnagar, S.K. Para, Manu, Nalkata, Kumarghat, Pencharthal and Panisagar.
The announcement of the special train service credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Manik Saha and the Railway Minister for facilitating the arrangement ahead of the festival.
