Health Secretary Kiran Gitte Inspects GBP Hospital, Reviews Development Works

Agartala, Jul 17: Health Secretary Kiran Gitte visited GBP Hospital on Thursday afternoon to review the progress of various ongoing development works, days after Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha inspected the hospital on July 14.The state government is committed to the overall improvement of GBP Hospital. During his visit, the Health Secretary inspected the medicine ward, eye OPD, dermatology OPD and the May I Help You counter.
At the medicine ward, he examined the progress of preparation of a 24-bed ICU and held discussions with engineers and architects on the matter. He directed the architects to complete the 24-bed ICU as quickly as possible and visited the existing (7+7)=14-bed ICU. The 24-bed ICU is expected to become operational soon. He also instructed engineers to begin work on a centralised AC system in the medicine ward and complete it at the earliest.
The Health Secretary inspected the area proposed for a ring road within GBP Hospital and discussed with engineers present how it could be implemented. He then inspected the trauma centre and the new central lab building. He issued strict instructions to security personnel to resolve the traffic congestion caused by parking across the hospital.
Additionally, he directed that a May I Help You counter be set up in front of the hospital's main gate, with security staff deployed there. Among those present during the visit, besides the Health Secretary, were Agartala Government Medical College and GBP Hospital Principal Professor (Dr) Tapan Majumder, Medical Superintendent (in-charge) Dr Kanak Chowdhury, Joint Director (Administration), and other HODs and doctors.
