235 Beneficiaries, Including 115 Men and 120 Women, Receive Care at Santirbazar Health Camp

Agartala, Jul 17: As many as 235 people, including 115 men and 120 women, received medical care at a special mega health camp organised at SBC Nagar Memorial PHC in Santirbazar on Wednesday under the state government's Chief Minister Nirmay Arogya Abhijan (second phase).The camp was jointly organised by the Health and Family Welfare Department, the National Health Mission (NHM) and the District Health and Family Welfare Society, South Tripura. South Tripura's Chief Medical Officer Dr J.M. Das attended the event.
Beneficiaries availed of specialist doctor consultations, non-communicable disease (NCD) screening, maternal and child healthcare, laboratory tests, free medicine distribution, ABHA ID creation, enrolment under the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY), and health related counselling. According to department-wise figures, 113 people were treated in the NCD department, 76 in medicine, 23 in ophthalmology, 21 in paediatrics, 19 in ayurveda, 14 in homeopathy, 11 in gynaecology, seven in dental, three in ENT and three in oncology. Chest X-rays were also conducted for 66 people under the TB programme.
The health camp saw active participation from gynaecologist Dr Pradyot Kanti Debbarma, radiation oncologist Dr Dhritiman Dutta, medicine specialist Dr Subhraneel Bhattacharya, Dr Manish Chowdhury (DFWO), Dr Subhradeep Pal, Dr Anamika Goswami and Dr Sanjay Biswas, besides doctors, nurses and health workers of the department. Local residents showed considerable enthusiasm and a positive response towards the camp.The state government's initiative aims to deliver improved, accessible and affordable healthcare at people's doorsteps, ensuring early detection of diseases and timely treatment. The health department said such mega camps will continue at primary health centres across the district in the future, allowing more people to benefit from free, quality healthcare services.
