The Indian women's cricket team etched their name in history by becoming the first women's side to win a Test match at Lord's, defeating England by a commanding 270 runs in the one-off Test on Monday.
Defending a daunting target of 457, India bowled out England for 186 on the final day to register one of the biggest victories in their Test history. The triumph also marked India's seventh win in their last 11 Women's Tests and extended their unbeaten record in Test matches played in England.
Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya congratulated the team on the historic achievement, describing the emphatic victory as a proud moment for Indian cricket. Congratulatory messages also poured in from Union ministers Piyush Goyal, Kiren Rijiju and Jyotiraditya Scindia, while the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) hailed the team's landmark success.
