India has condemned the attack on the commercial vessel GFS Galaxy off the coast of Oman. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, 10 of the 11 Indian nationals on board have been rescued, while one Indian citizen is still reported missing.
The Indian Embassy in Oman is closely monitoring the situation and is coordinating with Omani authorities, who are continuing search and rescue operations. India has expressed gratitude to the Omani government for its prompt support.
Expressing concern over the continuing attacks on commercial shipping in the region, New Delhi called for an immediate de-escalation of tensions and urged all sides to pursue a diplomatic solution to restore peace and stability.
The Ministry also stressed that attacks on commercial shipping and civilian infrastructure must cease, and that the free and unhindered movement of maritime trade through international waterways should be restored in accordance with international law.
