Bamutia Woman's Small Tiffin Shop Grows into Multi-Business Enterprise with TRLM Support


Agartala, Jul 9: Through the support of Maa Manasha Self Help Group (SHG) under Chirasthayee CLF and the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM), Alaka Shil of Bamutia Block, West Tripura District, has transformed her small tiffin shop into a multi-business enterprise, ensuring financial security for her family. Shil began her entrepreneurial journey in 2018 with a modest tiffin shop. After joining the SHG under TRLM, she gradually expanded her livelihood activities. With a bank loan of Rs 9 lakh and a CLF loan of Rs 4 lakh, she established a grocery shop, expanded her catering business and upgraded her beauty salon.

Today, her diversified enterprises generate a stable monthly income of approximately Rs 50,000 to Rs 60,000, ensuring a better quality of life for her family. A major milestone came with the commencement of Gomati Dairy operations in Bamutia. Shil secured the labour payment contract, invested around Rs 4 lakh, and through efficient management earned a net profit of over Rs 10 lakh. She utilised these earnings to purchase four ganda of land, creating a valuable asset for her family's future.

As a beneficiary of Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G), her socio-economic status has been further strengthened. Shil now stands as an inspiring rural entrepreneur whose journey reflects the impact of institutional credit, government support and determination.
