West Tripura DM announces National Award for Bijaynagar GP

Agartala, Jul 5: The West Tripura District Administration on Saturday announced that Bijaynagar Gram Panchayat under Mohanpur R.D. Block has been conferred a National Award for excellence in digital governance, one of only two Gram Panchayats selected nationwide.The award falls under the category "Expansion of Digital Services through Grassroots Initiatives by Gram Panchayats." According to the district administration, the panchayat was chosen from among more than 2.65 lakh Gram Panchayats across the country, and the recognition carries a cash prize of five lakh rupees.
The district administration stated that the award acknowledges excellence in digital governance and citizen-centric public service delivery at the grassroots level. According to the administration, the achievement reflects the sustained efforts of the Gram Panchayat, its elected representatives, officials and other stakeholders involved in strengthening digital governance in the area.
The West Tripura District Administration extended congratulations to the entire team of Bijaynagar Gram Panchayat, along with the Rural Development Department and all others associated with the accomplishment.The administration further stated that the recognition is expected to encourage continued efforts toward a digitally empowered, transparent and citizen-centric rural administration across the state.
