Nagaland on Friday inaugurated its first Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) Aadhaar Seva Kendra at Purana Bazaar in Dimapur, providing residents with a dedicated facility for Aadhaar enrolment and update services.
The centre was inaugurated by Advisor for Tribal Affairs and Election, H. Tovihoto Ayemi. Speaking at the event, he highlighted the importance of Aadhaar in ensuring uninterrupted access to education and various government welfare services.
Mr. Ayemi announced that biometric updates will be provided free of cost until September 30. The Aadhaar Seva Kendra has the capacity to process up to 250 enrolment and update requests every day.
The centre will remain open on all working days of the week, except on public holidays, making Aadhaar services more accessible to people across the state.
