Jul 03, 2026
The government has ordered the removal of three e-vehicle applications—BAT-BMS, Epoch-i-ion, and Lossigy—from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store over security concerns.
The decision follows allegations that the applications could be used to remotely disable electric vehicles, including e-rickshaws. According to sources in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), the apps have been directed to be removed from the app stores due to the potential risk of misuse.
The sources said the matter is currently under investigation and is being closely monitored. No further details have been released regarding the nature of the alleged security vulnerabilities.
