CM to Inaugurate Agartala Civil Hospital in Mid-July

Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumder on Friday announced that the newly constructed 50-bed Agartala Civil Hospital will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha in the middle of July, marking a significant step towards strengthening the state's public healthcare infrastructure.
The announcement came after the Mayor conducted a high-level inspection of the hospital to assess the final stage of preparations. The inspection was attended by Health Secretary Kiran Gitte, AMC Commissioner Saju Wahid, Ward No. 20 Corporator Ratna Dutta, the Chairman of the AMC Central Zone, and senior officials from the Health Department.
Addressing the media, Majumder said the hospital is fully prepared for inauguration, with only minor finishing works remaining. He added that the opening of the facility will depend on the Chief Minister's official schedule.
"The Chief Minister envisioned a modern civil hospital under the Agartala Municipal Corporation to reduce the increasing burden on IGM Hospital and GB Pant Hospital. This hospital has been developed to provide quality healthcare services to the people of Agartala and nearby areas with modern medical facilities," the Mayor said.
He directed officials to complete the remaining works on priority so that the hospital is ready for public use immediately after its formal inauguration.
Majumder said the new hospital would play a crucial role in improving healthcare delivery in the city by offering better medical services while easing patient pressure on the state's major referral hospitals.
Describing the upcoming inauguration as a milestone for Agartala, the Mayor said the project reflects the commitment of Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha towards expanding quality healthcare infrastructure and making advanced medical facilities more accessible to the people of Tripura.
Once operational, the 50-bed Civil Hospital is expected to significantly enhance the city's healthcare network and strengthen the state's public health system by providing affordable and accessible medical services closer to residents.
