Operation Amistad: Indian Army Hospital Begins Services in Venezuela

The Indian Army's field hospital, deployed to earthquake-hit Venezuela under Operation Amistad, has become fully operational and is providing free round-the-clock medical care to those affected by the disaster.
According to the Indian Embassy in Venezuela, a team of experienced Indian Army doctors has established a medical camp at the International La Rinconada Racetrack in Caracas. The facility is now offering 24×7 medical services to earthquake survivors.
Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that Operation Amistad is underway, with the Indian Army field hospital extending a helping hand to people impacted by the devastating earthquakes.
The twin earthquakes, measuring 7.2 and 7.5 in magnitude, struck Venezuela on Wednesday, claiming around 1,450 lives. Thousands have been injured, while many others remain missing.
As part of Operation Amistad, India dispatched two Indian Air Force C-17 Globemaster aircraft carrying 66 tonnes of humanitarian aid, including the Army field hospital and more than 35 tonnes of relief supplies, to support relief and rescue efforts in the affected areas.
