Nine Rescued from Sisiri River After Major Rescue Operation

A major multi-agency rescue operation concluded successfully on Monday after all nine people stranded in the turbulent waters of the Sisiri River in Arunachal Pradesh's Lower Dibang Valley district were brought to safety.
The rescued individuals included a Gaon Burah (village headman) and members of a local rescue team.
The incident began on Saturday near Dambuk when a seven-member rescue team launched a rafting mission to rescue four fishermen stranded due to rising water levels in the Sisiri River. The team successfully evacuated three of the fishermen, but while returning to the riverbank, their raft capsized in the strong current, sweeping several members downstream.
A coordinated rescue operation involving multiple agencies was immediately launched to trace and rescue those stranded in the river. After sustained efforts, all nine individuals were safely rescued on Monday, bringing the operation to a successful conclusion.
Authorities commended the coordinated efforts of the rescue agencies and urged residents to avoid venturing into swollen rivers during the monsoon season due to the heightened risk of flash floods and strong currents.
