Training Held to Curb Fraud in Property Registration

To prevent fraudulent and impersonated property registrations, the Revenue Section of the West Tripura District Magistrate's office put its sub-registrars and verification staff through a practical training drill on Monday, using original identity documents as part of live exercises.
The hands-on training programme, held at the Conference Hall of the Office of the District Magistrate and Collector, West Tripura, focused on verification of executants, claimants, witnesses, and property identification. The session was organised in accordance with Section 21 of the Registration Act, 1908, and Rule 138 of the Tripura Registration Rules (TRR), 1954.
Supervisors, verifiers, sub-registrars, and other concerned officials attended the programme, which included practical demonstrations and hands-on exercises using original identity documents.
According to the district administration, the training was designed "to ensure effective implementation of the verification process" and to strengthen identity verification procedures across registration offices.
The initiative, the administration noted, "reinforces the district administration's commitment to promoting transparency, accountability, and secure property registration services."
The programme was held under the supervision of West Tripura District Magistrate Vishal Kumar.
