Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to chair National Rural Development Conference 2026


Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will chair the National Rural Development Conference 2026 in New Delhi on June 28 and 29.

The two-day conference will bring together Rural Development Ministers, senior government officials and experts from all States and Union Territories to discuss holistic rural development, review the implementation of key flagship programmes and prepare a roadmap for the future of rural India.

The conference, the first of its kind to be held on such a large scale under the leadership of Shivraj Singh Chouhan, aims to strengthen cooperation between the Centre and the States in formulating a shared strategy for village development.

Deliberations will focus on the effective implementation of the VB-GRAM G Act, strengthening planning at the Gram Panchayat level and ensuring the efficient utilisation of resources to accelerate rural development across the country.
